Practice Areas

  • Bankruptcy Our firm represents individuals and commercial clients in bankruptcy proceedings. We represent both debtors and creditors in all types of bankruptcy cases.
  • Business and Commercial Law We provide a wide variety of services to our business clients including assisting in selecting the type of organizational entity under which to operate, negotiating and preparing business agreements, assisting in the sale and purchase of a business, obtaining financing and funding for business operations, and assisting in dissolution or business succession.
  • Business Organizations The form of business chosen for a business entity potentially affects every aspect of its operations. Our firm assists clients in formation and business planning in deciding whether they want to operate as a closely held business, limited liability company, partnership, or corporation. We advise our clients about directors' and officers' liability, dissolution, franchising, reorganization, trade association membership and activity, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, business successions, and shareholders' rights.
  • Construction Law Our firm represents owners, contractors, construction managers, developers, design professionals, and suppliers in all aspects of the construction process, including bidding and document preparation, contract negotiation and formation, contract performance, financing and warranty issues, mechanics and materialmen liens, and claims and dispute resolution. We have extensive experience regarding mechanic's liens and mechanic's liens foreclosures.
  • Contracts Our firm has experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing all types of contracts, whether commercial or private, including sales contracts, business agreements, leases, real estate contracts, and employment contracts. An experienced attorney can help you avoid future legal problems through proper drafting and by explaining your contractual rights and duties.
  • Criminal Our firm has extensive experience defending the rights of people arrested and accused of criminal offenses. We handle all types of criminal cases, from minor infractions and misdemeanors, such as traffic violations, to the most serious felony indictments, including drunk driving, drug possession, narcotics sales, theft and grand larceny, white collar fraud, embezzlement, sex offenses, assaults, arson, and conspiracy.
  • DUI/DWI Traffic violations can have serious criminal consequences, particularly when a driver is accused of driving under the influence. A conviction on DUI/DWI charges may result in fines, the revocation or suspension of your driver's license, and possible jail time. In addition, your insurance company may increase your rates to an unmanageable level. In defending against an impaired driving charge, you have many rights as a criminal defendant, including the right to cross-examine the witnesses against you, even if they are police officers. An experienced criminal defense attorney can make all the difference in such a difficult case.
  • Traffic Violations Although most people don't think of them as crimes, traffic violations can have serious criminal consequences. These traffic-related cases can become part of a criminal record, and it is crucial to have experienced legal help. A license suspension can happen when a driver receives several minor tickets or, in some cases, one serious ticket. A conviction of a traffic offense such as reckless driving, speeding, or driving with a suspended license will result in fines and may affect your driving record and increase your insurance rates.
  • Debtor/Creditor We represent both debtors and creditors. We have extensive experience handling mortgage foreclosures and other secured creditor cases. In addition, our practice includes a multitude of consumer credit transactions. In addition, as a debtor, if you are having difficulty paying your bills and are behind on your payments, both federal and state law can protect you from harassing phone calls and provide protection for your important assets. An experienced attorney can advise you of your rights and help you deal with the demands of creditors.
  • Elder Law As we get older, many of us are faced with difficult and important decisions regarding our healthcare and our financial well-being. We can help you plan for both the present and the future through the use of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, and health care directives.
  • Employment Law Employment law covers a complex network of laws that controls how employers must treat employees, former employees, and applicants for employment. We have significant experience representing advising employers and employees in a full range of employment matters and disputes. Our attorneys have experience interpreting and construing state and Federal statutes and case law in areas such as employment discrimination, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee benefits, whistleblower litigation, wrongful discharge, employment contracts, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the Federal Employer's Liability Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and special laws governing municipal employment.
  • Estate Planning Our firm handles a variety of estate planning matters, including planning for the distribution of an individual's property at his or her death and taking into account wills, taxes, insurance, property, and trusts so as to gain the maximum benefit of all laws, while carrying out the individual's wishes.
  • Family Law Our firm handles a full range of family law matters including adoption, divorce, spousal support, separation, premarital agreements, paternity, child custody, visitation, and child support.
  • Litigation and Appeals Our firm represents and advises clients who are or may become involved in a lawsuit or appeal as a result of a dispute, including prevention and settlement, in such areas as bankruptcy, probate, personal injury, employment claims, contract disputes, family law, and business & commercial matters.
  • Personal Injury Our firm represents individuals involved in controversies alleging a wrong or damage to another's person, rights, reputation, or property resulting from events or activities such as motor vehicle accidents, defective products, work-related accidents, infliction of emotional distress, intentional misconduct, and negligence.
  • Probate and Estate Administration Probate is the legal process by which a person's debts are paid and assets are distributed upon her or his death. Estate Administration includes the probate process as well as non-probate transfers of the deceased's assets. Individual state laws direct the probate court how to distribute the deceased's estate. State laws and procedures may vary, so it is important to consult a firm with expertise in this area of the law to ensure that the deceased's assets are distributed correctly.
  • Real Estate Our firm represents clients in all proceedings and transactions that deal with residential and commercial real property - land and the structures attached to it - including purchase and sale, construction, mortgages and foreclosures, leases, land use & zoning, title examinations, quiet title actions, closings, landlord/tenant disputes, and management.
  • Social Security Disability We represent individuals applying for disability benefits and individuals who have already applied and been denied disability insurance benefits. If your claim is denied, or if you disagree with any part of the decision reached by Social Security, you may appeal. However, you only have a limited time to appeal the decision, and you may lose this right if you neglect to appeal in a timely fashion. Due to the complex laws and regulations of the Social Security Administration, an experienced representative can be helpful in advising you or representing you in your claim.
  • Wills & Trusts A valid will instructs an executor and the court as to the decedent's wishes for personal and real property distribution and guardianship provisions for children. A trust places assets under the management of trustee at either the creation of the trust or the individual's death. A trustee has a fiduciary responsibility to manage the assets until the terms and conditions of the trust has been fulfilled. Our firm helps individuals protect their loved ones and plan for the distribution of their property and assets at their death through the drafting and updating of wills and trusts.
  • Workers` Compensation We represent employees who are injured on the job in claims for lost wages and medical treatment expenses against private industry, federal, state, and local government employers and their workers' compensation insurers. Our attorneys handle issues dealing with defenses, fraud, subrogation, and appeals.
